Psychological Testing for Children, Teens, & Adults in Grand Blanc, Mi

At Cedar & Sage Therapy, we offer comprehensive psychological testing to support and better understand you or your child’s mental and emotional functioning, personality traits, and cognitive abilities. We specialize testing children and adults through:

  • Neuropsychological Assessments
For individuals with cognitive, memory, or attention-related concerns often related to TBI, stroke, or neurological conditions.

  • ADHD Assessments
For children and adults struggling with attention, hyperactivity, organization, or focus.

  • Autism Spectrum Assessments
For individuals experiencing social communication differences, behavioral rigidity, or sensory sensitivities.

  • Mood & Anxiety Disorder Assessments
Comprehensive psychological testing to clarify diagnoses such as depression, generalized anxiety, OCD, and bipolar disorder.

  • Developmental Assessments
For young children with delays in language, social, cognitive, or motor functioning.

If you or your child are struggling with symptoms that feel overwhelming or confusing, psychological testing can offer valuable insights. These assessments help identify underlying patterns and provide a clearer understanding of strengths and challenges. With this information, we can create more effective, personalized treatment plans tailored to your unique needs. This process not only supports better management of symptoms but also increases self-awareness and aids in making thoughtful decisions in daily life. Taking this step can be an important part of improving well-being for you and your family.

What to Expect: Full vs. Partial Assessments

  • Comprehensive (Full) Assessment
Involves an in-depth clinical interview, standardized testing, behavioral and cognitive measures, collateral input (from parents, teachers, or medical providers), and a detailed report with diagnosis and recommendations.
    Administration Fee: $350
    Typical Cost Range: $2,000–$3,500
Duration: 8–12 hours over multiple sessions

  • Partial (Targeted) Assessment
Focuses on one specific concern, such as confirming ADHD or a mood disorder, without full-scale cognitive or neuropsychological testing. Includes a brief interview, focused testing battery, and summary report.
    Administration Fee: $200
    Typical Cost Range: $1,000–$1,800
    Duration: 3–6 hours

The administration fee is a non-refundable deposit required to begin testing preparation, cover scoring and setup, and secure appointment times.

Payment & Insurance

We are currently a private pay and out-of-network provider. We do not bill insurance directly. However, we will provide you with a detailed superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

Please call your insurance provider and ask if the following CPT codes are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement under your plan:

  • 90791 – Initial diagnostic interview

  • 96130 / 96131 – Psychological testing evaluation services

  • 96136 / 96137 – Test administration and scoring by the clinician

  • 96132 / 96133 – Neuropsychological testing evaluation services

  • 96116 – Neurobehavioral status exam (commonly used in neuropsych assessments)

  • 96146 – Automated testing administered via computer (if applicable)

Not all codes will apply to every case. We will tailor the superbill to your specific testing battery.

We strongly encourage you to ask your insurer:

  • Whether pre-authorization is required

  • If you need a referral from your primary care physician

  • What your deductible, co-insurance, or reimbursement rate is for out-of-network psychological testing
