Creative Healing for Children, Adolescents, & Adults—One Step at a Time

Angela Hancock, counselor for children, adolescents, and adults in grand blanc, michigan

Hi, I’m Angela. I help individuals feel truly seen, safe, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

Therapy can feel vulnerable and uncertain, whether you’re a child trying to make sense of big emotions, a teen struggling to express what’s inside, or an adult working toward deeper self-understanding. You’ve likely tried to hold things together on your own — and sometimes that effort can feel exhausting, confusing, or overwhelming.

Let me say this clearly: you don’t have to do it alone. You deserve support that feels authentic, steady, and safe.

I Work With People Across the Lifespan

I provide compassionate, creative therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, including those who:

  • Feel overwhelmed by emotions that don’t seem to make sense

  • Struggle with self-expression, confidence, or identity

  • Are navigating big life shifts — grief, transitions, or trauma

  • Seek tools to better understand themselves and connect with others

  • Want a therapeutic experience that honors all parts of who they are

Whether you’re here for your child, a teen, or for yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

In our work together, you’ll find therapy that is both safe and relational — a space where your voice matters, your story is respected, and your whole experience is valued.

I integrate art therapy and other expressive approaches to help you:

  • Explore feelings that may be hard to name in words

  • Build emotional resilience and self-compassion

  • Strengthen your sense of identity and confidence

  • Develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges

Art becomes a bridge — not just something we do, but a way to uncover meaning, reduce anxiety, and express what might feel too big or too subtle to say outright.

Therapy for Children & Adolescents

Young people often express their inner world in unique ways — through play, creativity, movement, and imagination. In sessions with children and teens, I:

  • Use art, play, and creative expression to help kids process emotions

  • Support teens in developing identity, self-esteem, and communication

  • Help families build connection and understanding at home

  • Meet clients where they are — with kindness, patience, and respect

Kids and teens don’t need to be “fixed.” They need a space where they feel heard, safe, and encouraged to grow.

A Holistic, Compassionate Approach

I believe that therapy should treat the whole person — mind, heart, and spirit — not just symptoms. I’m anchored in empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, and I tailor my work to your unique needs. My clients often tell me they appreciate:

  • A gentle, nonjudgmental presence

  • A space where they can feel grounded and understood

  • Practical tools they can carry into everyday life

  • Opportunities to explore themselves creatively

You don’t have to have all the answers to start — you just need the courage to take the first step.

Let’s Begin This Journey Together

Reaching out for help can feel scary — but it’s also one of the bravest things you can do. If you’ve made it this far, there’s a part of you that believes things can get better.

I’d be honored to support you in discovering more peace, resilience, and joy along your path.
